The 90 minute documentary set on Mt. Everest required unprecedented coordination and technological expertise from the production team.

Everest Avalanche Tragedy / Associate Producer

The high profile production was originally planned as a live special which would have featured a climber's attempt to make the first wingsuit flight off Everest's summit. As part of the team based in New York, my job was to produce packages about the climbing preparations leading up to the historic live broadcast from the world’s highest mountain.

But during the morning of Friday, April 18, an avalanche struck killing 13 people.  It was the second-deadliest disaster in Everest's history.  The entire team was in shock. As footage of the avalanche’s aftermath and recovery efforts was transmitted into the edit, we worked around the clock to produce a show which documented the tragedy and pay homage to those who lost their lives. It includes unprecedented access and eyewitness accounts from the rescue and recovery efforts that took place.
